Home >> Why Choose Us >> Process
Since localization projects are always massive and often have short turn-around periods, a sophisticated and consistent quality management process must be adopted to meet the quality control requirements. We developed our own quality management process based on the LISA QA model, ISO 9000 and other translation standards.

Effective translation bridges the gap between cultures, not merely words. To make a product truly international it must appear and function as a native product, specific to the target locale. This requires more than a straight translation. It requires several steps that examine the project from various viewpoints.

LocaTran Translations employs an impressive team of dedicated Project Managers who attentively oversee your project through all phases. LocaTran Translations’ project managers handle project scheduling, reporting, archiving, invoicing and ensure on-time delivery.

From the outset, our project managers strive to understand your products and organization in order to fully meet your requirements. Our goal is a long-lasting, mutually beneficial vendor-client partnership.

LocaTran Translations’ project managers follow strict monitoring guidelines, they are encouraged to tailor their strategy to each client's specific needs and objectives. Their goal is to deliever your project on budget, on time, and to your satisfaction.

Before the translation
For software, scientific, technical, medical and pharmacological translation the use of standard, or specifically approved glossaries is especially important.

During the translation
During the translation process the translators are aided by an array of tools to ensure consistency of the translated texts. The glossary specific for a project, and other references (standard glossaries, dictionaries and on-line data bases) are, in fact, made available to the translators in several formats:
  • On paper
  • Viewable in electronic format
  • Searchable with specific programs, such as MultiTerm, which automatically supplies the translation of the various terms
After the translation (QC)
At the end of the translation, each text is comprehensivly proofread and checked especially with respect to:
  • Completeness of the translation
  • Terminological consistency
  • Grammar, syntax and spelling
  • Fluidity of the linguistic forms
  • Cultural adaptation with the correct choice of examples tailored to the target market/country/audience

Specific revisions
Upon special request by the client, it is possible to submit the translation for review by a specialist in the field (university professor, professional, physician, engineer, journalist, etc) capable of verifying that the translations matches the specific field requirements, technically and linguistically.

Final control (QA)
Before delivery to the client, and after all the checks performed during the translation process, a final check is carried out based on the guidelines published by LISA (Localization Industry Standards Association). This check generates a series of matrices (based on sampled and spot analyses) determining a final score. This final score supplies an objective and quantitative indication of the translation quality.

See our diagram below, which illustrates the entire process of a typical localization project.
