翻译基本上是以句子为单位进行的。因此，为了准确表达原文的含义，使翻译读者能够接受，每个句子的翻译必须按照翻译语言的规范正确组织。这就要求在翻译词的顺序、语气、时态和语态的表达、复合句的结构和虚词的使用等方面， 尽量符合翻译语言的语法规则和修辞习惯。以下是一个例子：

分析:原文的被动语态变成了翻译中的主动语态。

分析：原文为主动语态，而中译英则采用英文科技风格中常用的被动语态。

分析：原文和翻译使用相同的句型，因为这句话可以用祈祷句表达在英语和汉语中。
5)当发电机发电并接收发电机(负载)汇流条时， 发电机控制装置连接通往平衡器汇流条的平衡电路。
The generator, control unit shal complete the equalizer circuit to the equalizer bus when the generator is ener- gized and connected to the generator (load) bus.
分析:译文不同于原文语序，采用倒装译法。此外，英语中没有中文逗号。
